The iRJ45 Device Manage can create snapshots of a device for debugging purposes. Such a snapshot consists of

  • the device log,

  • the exception log and 

  • the current configuration.

The log can then be exported and again imported on another instance of the Device Manager for examination.

To create a snapshot, the select the appropriate device in the device manager and click on “Get Snapshot” in the tool bar.

The Snapshot creation dialog will open and start the three step process of creating the snapshot (device log, excpetion log, configuration).

Upon completion of the process, click on „OK“. The snapshot is now available in the Network Navigator under the node “Snapshots”. 

When a snapshot is selected in the Network Navigator, the configuration can be viewed in the ConfigManager and the device and exception logs are shown in the according tabs.

To export a snapshot, select the snapshot and click on the “Save Snapshot” tool in the tool bar.

The target file can then be selected in a file selection dialog.

To import a snapshot, click on the “Import Snapshot” tool in the tool bar.

After selecting the snapshot file to import, the snapshot is added to the Snapshot node in the Network Navigator.
