The GOAL Framework was replaced by the more minimalistic uGOAL Framework, which supports almost every Feature and also the API of the bigger GOAL, which is necessary to build an application for the System on Module (SoM).
The main advantage of uGOAL is its size: with only 30 kB of FLASH, an application controller could start Profinet at the SoM and handles some Modules. This makes uGOAL compatible with even the smallest application controllers like the ATMEGA2560.
However - we still provide the GOAL framework for platforms listed below. But if you’ll start with the SoM, please use the uGOAL Framework for a simple start.
